An application for renewal of a local knowledge certificate must be made before it expires.

If a local knowledge certificate has expired, please complete an application for a local knowledge certificate.

The fee payable depends on the type of application and how many local knowledge areas are required.

Applicants must pay the applicable fee for each area listed in a local knowledge certificate being renewed.

On receipt of your application, an invoice will be E-mailed to you for each LKC to be renewed.

A local knowledge certificate cannot be issued until all fees have been paid.

For information about the fees for local knowledge certificates, please contact ST Vic at STqualifications@safetransport.vic.gov.au or on 1800 223 022

It is the responsibility of local knowledge certificate holders to ensure they maintain their knowledge of the local area being renewed.

Applicants are required to demonstrate that they still hold the relevant local knowledge, and as part of the renewal process applicants will be required to provide evidence that they have visited the relevant port offices.

The contact details of the relevant port office will be E-mailed to you on receipt of your renewal application.
