Changes to the Bus Safety Act 2009 and the Bus Safety Regulations 2020, saw the two-tier regulatory scheme for bus operators (registered and accredited) change into a one-tier scheme.

From 1 March 2022, bus operator registration is no longer applicable. Previously registered operators are now either automatically accredited, or, in some cases, exempt from the requirements of accreditation.

I invite you to attend any of the initial online information sessions to hear about how previously registered bus operators can meet the new requirements. I will provide clear guidance about what has changed, what remains the same, and what bus operators new to the accredited scheme need to do.
