Every year, as winter turns to spring, eager boaters rush to the water without ensuring their vessel is up to the job – meaning a spike in vessel disablements.

Boaters are also reminded of their requirement to keep a proper lookout, following a collision with a navigational aid.
Channel markers and nav aids may be harder to spot at times of sunset and sunrise, when there is glare on the water. Please take this into account and consider your speed.
