GPS verification signs are going up at busy boat ramps across the state. The signs show accurate GPS coordinates for waterway users to check against the reading from their GPS device.

MSV has installed GPS verification signs at Patterson River (Ramps 1-4), Hastings, Ocean Grove and Queenscliff.
Waterway managers at Portland, Warrnambool and Gippsland are installing verification signs at ramps during May-June.
To check the accuracy of your GPS device, get close to the sign and compare the coordinates to those on the sign. Always check your equipment before going out.
