Bus operators from across Victoria are invited to take part in a regional Bus Safety Seminar series; an opportunity to learn about best practice, ask questions and provide feedback to the safety regulator.
Bus Safety Victoria (BSV) begins its 2019 series in July, with other regional visits planned from August onwards.
While BSV wants as many bus operators as possible to attend, interested bus drivers and other bus safety workers can register their interest to come along if there is space available. People planning to start a bus service are also welcome to register their interest.
Lisa Faldon, BSV Acting Director, said the seminars will provide best practice and data-driven insights based on recent audit and compliance activities.
BSV managers will be discussing:
- The key to safety audit success
- Uncomplicating compliance
- Findings from our compliance activities.
“In addition, Victoria Police officers from the Heavy Vehicle Unit will do a presentation about work diaries and managing driver fatigue,” said Ms Faldon.
“For the benefit of the local community, the events will have a strong focus on issues affecting the future of bus safety.
“The seminars will also be an opportunity for local operators to provide us with feedback – what they like, what they need, and how we can help them,” Ms Faldon said.
