Request MPTP reimbursement

Use your receipt to claim a half‑fare refund.

Request MPTP reimbursement

Safe Transport Victoria can consider requests for reimbursements under certain circumstances.

MPTP Members can request a reimbursement for half the fare up to $60 per trip for fares incurred when:

  • a member has paid in full because their MPTP card was damaged and not registering in the taxi's electronic EFTPOS terminal.
  • a member has paid in full when their card has been stolen (and they have provided us with a police report).
  • a member travels interstate and their Victorian Travel Voucher was not accepted by the taxi driver from that State.
  • a member has one of the following disabilities – Dementia, Brain Damage, Intellectual Impairment or Visual Impairment.
  • a member has incurred the full fare due to the EFTPOS terminal not working or the driver not processing the MPTP card correctly.

Members will need to submit electronic receipts for consideration – handwritten receipts or receipts that are not legible are unable to be accepted.
