NTM 373 (T) 2026

Mariners are advised that two subsurface acoustic receiver stations have been established in positions (refer to locations below) off Mclouglins Beach and Golden Beach, Gippsland, up to 1.7-1.8 NM offshore and approximately 18-22 metres below the surface.

Positions for these are as follows:

Location Latitude (WGS84) Longitude (WGS84)
McLoughlins Beach 38° 37.533’ S 146° 56.680’ E
Golden Beach 38° 13.911’ S 147° 25.800’ E

The stations consist of an acoustic receiver (approximately 30 cm in height) positioned approximately 1 metre off the seabed with a subsurface float of approximately 35-45 cm in diameter extending approximately 2 metres above the receiver. The equipment will remain fully submerged and will not extend to the surface.

The two stations will be permanently removed in May 2027.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution and be aware if anchoring or trawling in the area.
